Em alguns casos, a caminhada em pontas é apenas um hábito adquirido. Entretanto, existem casos que andar na pontinha dos pés pode indicar patologias.

À medida que se desenvolve, a criança tende a abandonar o hábito da caminhada em pontas. Mas, se após os 2 anos ela insiste em andar na pontinha dos dedos do pé, é importante procurar alternativas que estimulem a caminhada correta e um ortopedista pediátrico para descartar possíveis problemas relacionados.

Nos primeiros passos as crianças têm, naturalmente, uma caminhada com características específicas. Para facilitar o equilíbrio, percebemos o bumbum mais empinado, tronco a frente,  bracinhos e as perninhas mais abertos para andar, além de dar passinhos mais rápidos, para ficarem menos tempo sobre o apoio de apenas um dos pezinhos. Nessa fase de busca pelo equilíbrio, a caminhada em pontas pode ser um recurso que algumas crianças utilizam para melhorar a dinâmica da caminhada, que pode passar com o tempo, ou não.

“Andar em pontas não é ideal! Mas também não é completamente ANORMAL…. Quando as crianças aprendem a andar, eles geralmente começam com as pontas dos pés. Assim que a sua parte sensorial se desenvolve e os seus músculos aumentam a sua força no tronco e nos membros inferiores, as crianças costumam abaixar os calcanhares e iniciam um padrão mais “natural” de marcha: calcanhar-dedos. Existem várias razões para que a criança ande sobre as pontas dos pés.”

Como dissemos no início, muitas vezes, a caminhada em pontas é apenas um mau hábito, mas que pode persistir, caso a criança não seja estimulada a mudar esse hábito, com desafios para que essa caminhada em pontas se torne difícil.

O contato frequente com o solo natural é um ótimo aliado para essa condição. A instabilidade do solo favorece o apoio do calcanhar mas é escasso para crianças urbanas.
